Assist in maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff by following safety policies and procedures and reporting hazardous situations in the appropriate manner.

For a home serving 8 or fewer residents, a general education development diploma or high school diploma and 2 years direct care or administrative experience in the human services field. This course is for current and aspiring personal care home administrators or nurses, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who wish to fulfill continuing education requirements. Responsible for the administration of assigned Community Residences as defined under the DHS 2600 regulations and to ensure compliance with the standards which govern the Community Residences.

If interested in becoming a personal care home administrator, our DHS approved Personal Care Home Administrator 100 Hour course will teach participants about the regulations and skills necessary to be the administrator of a home. Through the completion of the course, participants will also be eligible to take the licensing exam administered by the Department of Human Services.

Upon completion of the 100-hour training, students must pass the free competency test and earn an American Heart Association Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED card to receive certification.
